Apparently, Best Friend, and Fresh: Your Instagram Feed Is Going Back To Showing Newer Posts First @balleralert Your Instagram Feed Is Going Back To Showing Newer Posts First -blogged by @theRealAlexisDanielle ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Remember when your Instagram used to show pictures and videos in chronological order and you weren’t seeing day old posts at the top of your feed? Well, the app we all love is apparently gearing up to get back to that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s no secret that many of its users weren’t too fond of Instagram’s change in algorithm, which began back in 2016. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now, in a press release shared Thursday, the app announced plans to keep your feeds “more fresh,” ensuring that you don’t miss newer posts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Based on your feedback, we’re also making changes to ensure that newer posts are more likely to appear first in the feed,” the statement released to Instagram-press.com read. “With these changes, your feed will feel more fresh, and you won’t miss the moments you care about. So if your best friend shares a selfie from her vacation in Australia, it will be waiting for you when you wake up.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ IG also announced a new “refresh feed” button that will keep your feed from automatically updating when it’s refreshed. Yes, that means you’ll stop losing your place after you’ve been scrolling for five minutes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Instagram says they’ll continue to implement changes over the next few months in an effort to improve users’ experiences. Bless Up, Cars, and Driving: Was trying to sneak a photo when this pretty girl suddenly turned around and flashed me this big smile @DrSmashlove Reddit u/erisedwild So yesterday bruv I was driving and my windshield wiper fluid ran out. Bro I done told y’all before, I don’t know about cars. I’m good at a few very specific things. Being handy ain’t one of them. So after some momentary panic, I hit the market and buy some wiper fluid. Then I consulted my rock. My confidante. My soulmate: Google 😍. First I had to know where’s the button in my car to pop the hood. Googled 🤗. Then I had to figure out where is that stick that props up the hood! Googled 😁. Finally, “where do I put wiper fluid”. Googled that but this time the google assistant wanna pop up like “Look for the large plastic cap in the lower left hand corner. Also, our algorithm indicates that You Might Like: ‘how to freshen your Nani naturally with Organic Lavender 🌷’, ‘Kylie’s New Perfectly Pregnant Eye Shadow - Reviews and On-Skin Test!’ and ‘Cosmopolitan: 17 Ways to Blow his Mind in Bed!’” And by then I’m like “U KNOW WHAT GOOGLE ENUF OF U TODAY GOODBYE ASF 😂”. And that got me thinking 🤔. What happened before Google? In the 1980s, what if I pulled over and didn’t know how to fill my wiper fluid? Simple. I’d pull over. I’d fiddle with my hood for 45 minutes while my girl stay in the car, worried for her life. Then a nice redneck man would pull over in a pickup... God, Memes, and Saw: GOD IS A BINARY FRACTAL SELF-REPLICATING ALGORITHM FRACTALS THE UNIVERSE IS A GENETIC MATRIX RESULTING FROM THE EXISTENTIAL TENSION OF HIS DESIRE FOR KNOWLEDGE OF SELF @4biddenknowledge Here is my effort to explain the basics of fractals. This is the coding that the prime creator used to create everything that we perceive in this universe. We are living in a created fractal holographic matrix. All Fractals start with a process called iteration. An operation is repeated over and over again. Often a very simple formula gives rise to an incredibly complicated-appearing image. Most people who initially feel put off by looking at this passed high school algebra and did things that were much more difficult than this. You can start with the MandelbrotFormula: z=z^2 +c (z=z squared + c). This is really: z(new) = z(old) ^2+ c. For the Mandelbrot equation, z is set at the beginning and most often is (0,0). The c corresponds to the pixel- picture the computer screen with an x-axis horizontally and a y- axis vertically. So a point on the x-axis would be (2,0) and a point on the y-axis would be (0,2) and a point in the lower left would be (-2-,2). (The second number is actually multiplied by i, the square root of minus 1- more on this later.) (like very later when someone else is doing the writing) So to see what color a particular pixel turns out, you put it into the equation z= z^2 + c z(new) = z(old) ^2 + c. Start with the point (2,0) on the x axis. The second number is multiplied by i, the square root of minus one, so this number is 2+ 0i= 2. In the Mandelbrot equation, the z is set at the beginning and the pixel is going in at the c value. For z=0 and c=pixel=(2,0) z= 0^2 +2= 2 Then you put the 2 in for the old z and get a new new z- this is the iteration part. z= 2^2 +2=6 z=6^2+2=38 etc. Try another pixel- (-0.2,0.2) z=0^2 + (-0.2 +0.2i)= -0.2 + 0.2i z=(-0.2 + 0.2i)^2 +(-0.2 +0.2i) etc. The number of times you plug it into the formula is called the "maximum iterations" or maxiter- one of the things you can vary in the fractal program. 4biddenknowledge I saw an image post on @awakenedconsciouscollective that inspired me to make this post.
