Beautiful, Children, and Ignorant: Let's Talk: How Important Is lt To Talk About Racism In Your Household? @balleralert Let’s Talk: How Important Is It To Talk About Racism In Your Household? -blogged by @peachkyss ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With all that’s going on in today’s society from the increase in racially-charged hate crimes and black men, women and children being gunned down by police to being publicly disrespected by the celebrity-in-chief, Trump, it’s extremely important to discuss racism within your household. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For years, racism wasn’t discussed as often in households due to many not wanting to push the issue onto their children. Today, racism is so blatant, especially as it’s spewed directly from the White House, that it needs to be discussed with our children to prevent the worst case scenario. They need to have a clear understanding that there are some ignorant people in this world that will not respect them because of the color of their skin. They must understand that people will hate them and target them because of a little extra melanin. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Many of us raise our children to love and respect others, but then you have some people that could care less how you or your children feel. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Racism is not an inherited trait. It is a learned behavior that has been pushed onto children at a young age. Children don’t just start hating other races, they are taught to be hateful. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It doesn’t make it any easier when you have a clown in office who takes every opportunity to put down other races and nationalities. We have to instill in our children that they are beautiful, they are smart , and most of all important. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Don’t let another day pass you by without having the conversation about racism with your children. They are never too young. Remember parents, you are your child’s first teacher.

Anaconda, Billboard, and Fashion: #BallerAlert's Today in Hip-Hop: Outkast Released 'Speakerboxxx/ The Love Below' @balleralert RES IPLICIT CONTE STRONG LANCUNCE CONTENT BallerAlert's Today in Hip-Hop: Outkast Released 'Speakerboxxx- The Love Below'-blogged by @thereal__bee ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ On Sept. 23, 2003, rap duo Outkast released their fifth studio album 'Speakerboxxx-The Love Below.’ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Released as a double album with more than two hours in playtime, the album was too expansive and creative to be shrunk down into one album. What's even more unique is that each album was an exclusive project from each group member. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ BigBoi's 'Speakerboxxx' was filled with the Southern hip hop influence we're used too, while also experimenting with some Funk sounds. Andre3000's 'The Love Below' was just as experimental, playing with a variety of genres and giving us vibes that range from jazz to psychedelic sounds. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ The album was an instant hit with both singles, "Hey Ya!" and "The Way You Move,” peaking at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100. The body of work has also been certified diamond and has gone eleven times platinum by the RIAA. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ In true Outkast fashion, 'Speakerboxxx-The Love Below' is a non traditional hip-hop album, that still gives us the lyricism we love. We can always appreciate this legendary group's ability to play with sounds and experiment with genres that may have never collided with hip-hop otherwise. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ What was your favorite song from the album?

Donald Trump, Drugs, and Friday: Jay Z Says Trump is a Joke "With All Disrespect" @balleralert Jay Z Says Trump is a Joke “With All Disrespect” – blogged by @MsJennyb (video @bbcradio1) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On the heels of the release of his most personal album to date, Jay-Z has been sitting down for interviews to divulge his thought process throughout the making of the highly anticipated album, “4:44.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In his most recent interview with BBC Radio 1 on Friday, JayZ discussed his views on Donald Trump after having campaigned for both BarackObama and HillaryClinton in past elections. As Trump continues to reverse Obama-era legislations, alongside Jeff Sessions, who is eager to reignite the war on drugs, Jay Z shared his thoughts on Trump and the current state of politics. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “I believe that we are resilient, especially us as black people and especially the culture. We’ve been through so much more than this guy,” he said. “This guy, I’m looking at him like, man, this is a joke, with all – I can’t even say with all due respect – with all disrespect.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Until everyone is free, no one is free,” Jay added. “Period. That’s just a fact. We are all linked some kind of way. So if you oppress a certain people, everyone is in danger, karmically and in real life. If I’m being oppressed and you have this big, nice mansion, I’m coming inside there. That’s going to happen, that’s just how life is.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Although the country is struggling with racial injustices and increased hate crimes in the wake of the Donald Trump era, Hov believes it is something that we, as a nation and culture, can overcome. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “I don’t think that this is happening if we weren’t prepared to handle it,” he said. “I’m just looking forward to what’s next after that, because usually when things are darkest, then light is on its way. I’m not fearful.”
