I’m sure you’re familiar with the Great Schism between the Western and Eastern Church. A lot of things lead up to it, but one of the big things was the translation of the Nicene Creed. The original creed did not include The Spirit proceeding from the Son. Only the Father. The Western church added the Filioque because it made sense to them, but that didn’t fly by the Eastern Church who felt that it was an addition not found in the original. The eastern church believes in the Godhead but does not agree that the Spirit proceeds from both the Father and the Son. That is one of the things that led to the Great Schism and remains a point of contention to this day.
