The “Drumline” actor, who has hosted NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” for the past eight seasons, announced in a lengthy Facebook post Monday that he would not be returning to the reality competition series. Cannon made the decision to exit the franchise amid controversy over a racially charged joke he told in his recent Showtime stand-up special “Stand Up, Don’t Shoot.” According to Cannon, executives at NBC believed he “disparaged the brand” and later threatened to terminate his contract. “After days of deliberating over some extremely disappointing news that I was being threatened with termination by Executives because of a comedy special that was only intended to bring communities closer together, I was to be punished for a joke,” he wrote on Instagram and Facebook. “This has weighed heavy on my spirit. It was brought to my attention by my ‘team’ that NBC believed that I was in breach of contract because I had disparaged their brand. In my defense, I would ask how so? Or is this just another way to silence and control an outspoken voice who often battles the establishment.” In his stand-up special, which premiered on Showtime Friday, Cannon reportedly riffs on his experience hosting “America’s Got Talent” and how the series has changed his core fanbase. “I honestly believe, once I started doing ‘America’s Got Talent,’ they took my real n****r card. They did!  After much evaluation and deliberation, my family and I have made the difficult business decision that Ringing
 Bros. and Bamum & Bailey will hold its final performances in May of this year. Ringing Bros. ticket sales have
 been declining, but following the transition of the elephants off the road, we saw an even more dramatic drop.
 This, coupled with high operating costs, made the circus an unsustainable business for the company.
 Nearly 50 years ago, my father founded our company with the acquisition of Ringling Bros The circus and its
 people have continually been a source of inspiration and joy to my family and me, which is why this
 was such a
 tough business decision to make. The decision was
 even more difficult because of the amazing fans that have
 become part of our extended circus famity over the years, and we are extremely grateful to the millions of
 familes who have made Ringling Bros part of their lives for generations. We know Ringling Bros. isn't cnly our
 family business, but also your family tradition.

Dylann Roof Found Guilty On Murder & Federal Hate Crime Charges - blogged by: @eleven8 - ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 22 year old DylannRoof, the man responsible for killing nine black worshipers in a Charleston church in 2015, has been found guilty of his crimes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Despite admitting to killing the church members in a video taped confession, Dylann Roof plead not guilty to all charges. After two hours of deliberation, a 12 – member jury found Roof guilty of 33 federal charges which include 9 counts of use of a firearm to commit murder during and in relation to a crime of violence, 9 counts of obstruction of exercise of religion resulting in death, 9 counts of violating the Hate Crime Act resulting in death, 3 counts of violating the Hate Crime Act involving an attempt to kill, and 3 counts of obstruction of exercise of religion involving an attempt to kill and use of a dangerous weapon. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The same 12-member jury will be responsible for determining Roof’s sentencing. He will either receive life in prison or the death penalty. Roof also faces a separate murder trial where he has been charged with 9 counts of murder and other charges in the state court system. His trial in that case is scheduled to start in January. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “He needs to be held accountable for every bullet,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Nathan Williams told the jury Thursday. “The parishioners could not have seen the hatred in his heart.
