Philadelphia 76ers, Basketball, and Colin Kaepernick: James Harden Pays Meek Mill A Visit In Jail, Says He's In High Spirits @balleralert JamesHarden Pays MeekMill A Visit In Jail, Says He's In High Spirits - blogged by: @ashleytearra ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Even behind bars, rapper Meek Mill is still receiving loads of support from fans, family, and even close friends. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On Tuesday, December 26th, Houston Rockets player James Harden paid a visit to Mill at the State Correctional Institution, located in Chester, PA-and, from what he says, the Philly MC is actually holding up just fine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Got a chance to see my bro meekmill today. His spirit is high and hopefully, we can get him out by February,” Harden wrote in his recent Instagram story. He then went on to relay a message that Mill wanted to tell his supporters, regarding some possible music projects on the way. “Told me to tell y’all when he gets out he got some [heat] for y’all.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In Mill’s honor, TMZ reported that sources close to Harden told TMZ Sports that the NBA superstar had also gotten some ‘Free Meek’ sneakers custom made and would be wearing them on the basketball court when the Rockets play the Celtics, this Thursday. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Though, as of now, it is unclear as to when and if Mill will be coming home anytime soon, it’s great to know that many are still standing with him during this difficult time. Joel Embiid and Michael Rubin, 76ers owner, visited Mill back in November. Colin Kaepernick also spoke with the rapper and said that he was very humbled by everyone’s overwhelming amount of support. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However, this isn’t Mill’s first big run-in with the law. The 30-year-old has had a troublesome past, but we’re hoping that things will get back on track for the better… at least for his sake. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Crying, Family, and Memes: Four-Month-Old Baby Attacked and Dragged By Raccoon Inside Philly Apartment t @balleralert Four-Month-Old Baby Attacked and Dragged By Raccoon Inside Philly Apartment – blogged by @MsJEnnyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Earlier this week, tragedy struck in Philadelphia after a raccoon attacked a four-month-old girl inside her Philly home. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to the Los Angeles Times, the baby’s mother, Ashley Rodgers, was taken her older son to the bathroom, as the baby slept on a bed. When she returned, she found her daughter on the floor, covered in blood. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “We heard a sound upstairs, and we see a raccoon run down the steps,” Rodgers told reporters. “When I finally got to her, she was laying on the floor, so it had dragged her off the bed, across the room and she was bleeding and crying, and her whole face was red.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The little baby was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment. Upon arrival, she received over 60 stitches and a rabies shot and is now expected to recover. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Since then though, Animal Care and Control has cased the area, as well as the building and has yet to find the raccoon. The team has even set traps but the raccoon has yet to be caught. As a result, the family, who just moved into the apartment this week, will not return to their unit.

According to reports, the officer, SeanSuiter, who was accompanied by his partner at the time, approached a man, who had been displaying “suspicious behavior.” After a brief confrontation, Suiter was shot in the head, prompting his partner to call for medics and backup. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Since then, rumors have swirled about the unsolved murder. Many have pointed the finger at the officer’s partner, questioning his motives. But, it wasn’t until officials revealed that Suiter was scheduled to testify before a grand jury in a corruption probe into his former co-workers, that the speculation turned into a possible conspiracy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The FBI had launched an investigation into a Baltimore task force that used their power to steal money from potential criminals and suspects in the city. The officers were also accused of stealing drugs that were seized and funneling them back into other cities. Several officers have been indicted in the corruption case, including a Philly cop, who orchestrated the drug run in Philly. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Although the feds do not have any evidence that directly links Suiter to a conspiracy, the Commissioner revealed, “There’s nothing we won’t consider,” though it “appears to be nothing more than a spontaneous observation of a man behaving suspiciously and a spontaneous decision to investigate his conduct.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to USA Today, officials have since retrieved the officer’s gun from the crime scene and have been able to conclude that he was shot with his own weapon......to read the rest log on to BallerAlert.com (clickable link on profile)

Jail, Meek Mill, and Memes: Meek Mill's Legal Team Says Judge Gave Him a Heavy Sentence Because He Refused To Give Her a Shout Out in A Boyz ll Men Remake @balleralert Meek Mill’s Legal Team Says Judge Gave Him a Heavy Sentence Because He Refused To Give Her a Shout Out in A Boyz II Men Remake – blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Earlier this week, MeekMill was sentenced to 2 to 4 years behind bars for violating probation, again. Despite the judge’s 10-year history with the rapper and several previous easy breaks, many believe the sentence was harsh and heavy-handed. In fact, the rapper’s legal team says the judge has a vendetta against him. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to TMZ, Meek’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, says the judge passed down the heavy sentence even after prosecutors recommended no jail time because of her own personal issues with the rapper. Tacopina says the two are from the same part of Philly and know some of the same people, the publication reports. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tacopina cited an incident from last year, when the judge asked the rapper to do a remake of Boyz II Men’s, “On Bended Knee,” and give her a shout-out. According to the attorney, Meek thought the judge was joking, but she said “I’m not kidding,” and when he refused, she said, “Okay, suit yourself.” Since then, Tacopina believes she has had it out for him, which explains the heavy sentence. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As a result, Meek’s legal team says they plan to appeal the sentence.
