tax bracket: project-radfem "VOTE FOR BERNIE SANDERS!" Yeah, cause a straight, white, rich, Christian guy is totes gonna help me. johnskylar: thecoppercow: lord-kitschener: >christian Christian. ahahahahahaaaaa! Also, rich?  In Washington terms, Sanders is a pauper.  He and his wife report joint income of $200,000 on their tax return.  While that’s a high number, it’s supporting two people and it’s below the highest tax bracket.  He also has a net worth of $528,000, which is about HALF the median net worth of the average member of Congress in the 113th Congress, and is a pittance compared to the Clintons’ vast $55 million fortune, which is literally 100 times larger. Yet still he manages to do his job and be competitive with millionaire politicians. When you consider that literally a majority of Congresspeople are millionaires, and Bernie Sanders is among the 20 poorest senators, very little of what was said here is accurate. Also keep in mind that these numbers represent his net worth after a lifetime in politics.  When he started out, he was a poor kid in Brooklyn.  And he’s still fighting for poor kids in Brooklyn and around the country.  He isn’t someone who forgot where he came from. Also, just in case anyone is confused about the “christian” thing and why it’s funny, let me spell it out: BERNIE IS JEWISH This is why I hate tumblr and this pseudo-intellectual wannabe “radical” faction of millennialis who think judging someone by their political identities is more important than someone’s actions, words, and thoughts. If what the OP said were true than Ben Carson would be the best nominee for black people since he’s black (a guy who dismissed black lives matters) and Anne Coulter would be a feminist hero because she is an outspoken women (she’s pro life, hates feminism, hates liberalism, etc). Do you see my point ? It’s ridiculous. Im tired of this immature bs. I’m glad she got dragged hahahaha
