Basketball, Friends, and Memes: Barack Obama Says That He Would Sign with the San Antonio Spurs If Ever Given the Chance to Be a Part of the NBA @balleralert Barack Obama Says That He Would Sign with the San Antonio Spurs If Ever Given the Chance to Be a Part of the NBA - blogged by: @ashleytearra ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If BarackObama was ever seeking an NBA team to sign with, the San Antonio Spurs would be the first to hear from him. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ During a sit-down at MIT’s Sloan Sports Analytics Conference in Boston this week, when asked which professional basketball squad he would be open to join, the former President of the United States actually said so himself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “This is an outstanding fantasy. I am just basking in the scenario,” he said, referring to his long-lived basketball dreams. “I think it’s fair to say that there are organizations in the NBA that may not win every year, [but] they are focused on the team; they treat everybody in the organization with respect. That is the kind of organization that I would want to be a part of. I will say that, over the last fifteen in basketball, San Antonio would be a great example.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Obama then added, “There is a little drama popping up right now. If you look at what they’ve built, it’s just a smart, well-run operation with good culture.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to mySanAntonio, he later joked that he had to be careful, being that he does have friends who own NBA teams. However, he also mentioned the Rockets, Warriors, and Celtics as good NBA homes.

Despite the money and fame, James divulged about the climate, as an athlete, to discuss politics and racial injustices in the world. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “We cannot deny that we are very divided especially in the political arena,” Champion said. “The warriors said, ‘If we had an invite we’re not going to the White House,’ LeBron, you called them a ‘bum,’ - prompting James and Durant to both interject, saying “straight up,” as Champion continued, asking, “How do you describe the climate for an athlete with a platform, nowadays, that want to talk about what’s happening in our world?” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Well, the climate is hot,” James responded. “The number one job in America, the point of person, is someone who doesn’t understand the people and really don’t give a f*ck about the people.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “When I was growing up,” he continued, “there were like three jobs that you look for inspiration or you feel like these were the people that can give me life. Family, Friends, and Golden State Warriors: Steve Kerr Weighs In On LaVar Ball Amid His Comments on Lakers' Coach Luke Walton: "He's Become Like The Kardashian Of The NBA" 13 @balleralert MPIONS KAISER PERMANENTE Steve Kerr Weighs In On LaVar Ball Amid His Comments on Lakers’ Coach Luke Walton: “He’s Become Like The Kardashian Of The NBA”– blogged by @MsJennyb ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As LaVarBall and the Big Baller Brand continue to claim headlines, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr has drawn an interesting comparison between sports’ most talked about family and one of Hollywood’s most controversial families - the Kardashians. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ According to reports, following Ball’s criticisms about the Lakers’ coaching staff, where he claimed the team no longer wants to play for coach Luke Walton, an irritated Kerr weighed in. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “Somewhere, I guess in Lithuania, LaVar Ball is laughing at all of us. People are eating out of his hands for no apparent reason, other than he's become like the Kardashian of the NBA or something," Kerr said of Ball. "And that sells, and that's what's true in politics and entertainment and now in sports. It doesn't matter if there's any substance involved with an issue, it's just can we make it really interesting for no apparent reason? There is nothing interesting about that story." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I feel horrible for Luke, that's my guy, he's one of my best friends," Kerr said, referencing Ball’s comments about Walton’s lack of control. "He shouldn't have to deal with this. But to me, one of the things about the NBA is it's always been a haven from the parents. The guys who coach high school are the ones who really have to deal with the parents. I've never had to talk to a parent who was upset about playing time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I'm sure there are plenty out there but they don't have a voice in the NBA. But for whatever reason we're giving this guy a voice and Luke's got to deal with it, and it's a shame. He's handling it great. He's doing all he can. It's just part of his gig, unfortunately."
